A Tyler woman heads to prison for her wedding scams.
Prosecutors say Holly Ellliott embezzled around $120,000 from the venue where she worked, Centaur Arabian Farms in Smith County.
Smith County Assistant District Attorney Richard Vance says, "People were showing up and saying hey I'm here for my walk through for my wedding. The venue owners would say what do you mean?"
Vance says she offered special deals to couples if they paid in cash and kept the money to herself. Around 20 different people paid her.
The venue ended up paying for the weddings out of pocket.
Vance says Elliott had a lengthy criminal history. Now, she faces 10 years in prison, $10,000 in fines and she has to pay back the money she stole.
