Tornadoes, Large Hail and Flooding Possible With Severe Storms Today

Be weather aware today across North Texas after the noon hour through 9 p.m.

Please do not panic, this is not a May-like severe weather event. The sun will not be out all day and temperatures will NOT be in the 80s and 90s. Storms need instability (heat) to really blossom. There is a chance that the temps along the I35W corridor reach the mid-70s early this afternoon, which is warm enough to break the cap that's in place this morning.

This being said, all modes of serve weather are still possible today, with the isolated tornado threat between 1 p..m and 4 p.m., mainly west of I-35E/Hwy377 and north of Hwy 380.

Thunderstorms are expected to develop between 2 and 4 PM and move into East Texas tonight. Some storms will be severe with large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes. Heavy rain and flash flooding will be possible tonight. Stay weather aware today! #txwx #dfwwx #ctxwx pic.twitter.com/3OZn2Rt6ls

I'll have a FB live update on KRLD's FB page sometime early this afternoon. I will also be in studio at 1080am KRLD from 1 p.m. through mid-evening ... watching the sky and radar for all of you!

Wait there is more!!! How about some snow kiddies?

Confidence has also increased that some snow will be possible Sat AM as moisture wraps around the departing storm system. Light accumulations are possible, especially for locations north of US-380. Snow may fall as far south as the I-20 corridor. Stay tuned! #dfwwx #ctxwx #txwx pic.twitter.com/kbAizB0D95
