GARLAND (KRLD) - A man's locked up in Garland, accused of driving drunk when he caused a crash that killed a toddler over the weekend.
The two-year-old girl was thrown from her family's car when it was broad-sided by a car trying to escape from police Saturday night.
A DPS helicopter was tracking Adrian Maldonado's SUV when he exited 635-LBJ and ran a red light just before crashing into a Mustang at Northwest Highway and Shiloh Road.
The little girl's parents and three-year-old brother are still in the hospital. Maldonado is up on a string of charges including intoxicated manslaughter and intoxicated assault.
