Plano police are now saying an SUV involved in a deadly accident yesterday afternoon was leaving the scene of a hit and run accident before the deadly crash along 75.
Police are now saying the 32-year-old driver and 35-year-old passenger of the SUV were speeding along the service road of 190 after they were involved in a hit and run when they missed the turn, drove across the grassy median and went airborne. That's when the SUV catapulted across the northbound lanes of 75 before hitting a dump truck.
The driver of the dump truck, 53-year-old Alvaro Torres was killed.
The driver of the SUV, Zachary Harbin was also killed.
His passenger survived and is in the hospital with serious injuries.
Hwy 75 was shut down for hours north and southbound yesterday afternoon.
