Texas utility regulators extend their rule preventing water or sewer companies from disconnecting residential customers who are unable to pay their bills.

The Public Utility Commission had set a moratorium on disconnections through today. PUC Chair DeAnn Walker says they were trying to estimate when the state's economy would begin recovering from COVID-19.

The moratorium has been extended through June 13th.

The order also applies to some electric companies in parts of Texas that are not part of the competitive electric market.
