ROCKWALL (1080 KRLD)- A Rockwall police officer who died from the Coronavirus was on the minds of hundreds of people who gathered last night for a vigil.
A large crowd turned out at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium, lighting candles in memory of Tracy Gaines who had been with Rockwall P-D for 15 years.
A Rockwall squad car was parked there, covered in balloons, flowers, American flags and handwritten notes from students at Williams Middle School and Rockwall High School were Gaines served as School Resource Officer.
He died from Covid-19 on Monday, ending a 24-day battle.
Gaines' wife and their two teenage sons also contracted the illness but have recovered.
