Woman Wounded In Uptown Dallas Drive-By Shooting

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A gunman is on the run in Dallas where a woman was badly wounded in a drive-by shooting early this morning.

Just after 3:00 a.m police found the victim bleeding in a shot up BMW stopped in the middle of McKinney Avenue near Allen in Uptown. 

The female victim was rushed to a local hospital with serious wonds. The car was honeycombed with bullet holes and the front passenger window was completely shattered. Also, there were two holes on the passenger side of the windshield.

At the crime scene, officers canvassed for clues including possible spent shell casings.

Police believe the shots were fired on Pearl Street near Klyde Warren Park and the woman's companion drove to the McKinney Avenue location to get away from the gunfire before calling police.

The shooter was long gone when police arrived and, so far, they're not saying who it is or why they did it.
