NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (1080 KRLD) - A North Richland Hills Police K-9 shot in the line of duty is back at work.
"K-9 Koba is back to duty -- full duty," says Carissa Katekaru with North Richland Hills Police. "We're really excited about that."
K-9 Koba was shot on January 14 as he was trying to apprehend a suspect.
The road to recovery wasn't always easy.
"He ended up having multiple surgeries throughout his recovery period," says Katekaru.
But in just two months, Koba has made a full recovery.
"We're really surprised that he's back so quickly," Katekaru says. "But he's so resilient, and he's just such a tough dog."
On Koba's first day back, he didn't skip a beat.
"When he got back on shift, he picked up just where he left off, which is very encouraging," says Katekaru.
