ROWLETT (KRLD) - A second man has been sentenced to life without parole for the murder-for-hire of a Rowlett woman.

It took the jury about 45 minutes to decide Jesus Trevino was guilty of capital murder. He was the man who shot 37-year old Laura Grillo in her Rowlett home in November of 2015. Prosecutor Marissa Hatchett says Trevino was hired by Grillo's fiance, John Makris who wanted out of the relationship.

"We believe he didn't want to have to pay for child support for his third child," said Dallas County Assistant District Attorney Marissa Hatchett. "He had two other children with another woman that was out of state so this would now have been a third child that he was paying child support for."

Makris was also convicted of capital murder and sentenced to life. A third man pleaded guilty for a reduced sentenced and testified in both trials.
