ROANOKE (1080 KRLD) - Police in Roanoke encountered a suspicious person overnight. It turns out he was wanted for murder in Oklahoma.

Officers were called to the PetSmart on Highway 377 early this morning and encountered Jacob Allan Barber, 21.

"Officers located a male sleeping up against the building," says Roanoke Police Ofc. Ryan Otero. "Through a computer check, they determined he had a murder warrant out of Oklahoma, and he was placed under arrest without incident."

Barber is accused of stabbing his father multiple times over the weekend.

He's being held in the Denton County Jail.

"We have a murder in the first degree warrant for him with a million-dollar bond right now," says Moore Police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis. "We've got detectives en route to go ahead and interview him."

Moore will soon be extradited back to Oklahoma.

"If he waives extradition, he can come back today," says Sgt. Lewis. "If he doesn't, it takes a little while. It's a little bit of a process."
