WEATHERFORD (1080 KRLD) - The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals today turned down the case of a North Texas man who kidnapped and tortured his former neighbor.

Jeffrey Allen Maxwell has been locked up since 2011 serving three life sentences out of Parker County.

Maxwell had moved to Corsicana from a home just outside of Weatherford. The victim, Louis Pearson, had been his next door neighbor.

During the trial, Pearson, who identified herself to reporters, was abducted and taken to Maxwell's home in Ellis County. Pearson testified Maxwell chained her to a bed and spent two weeks torturing her with a whip and sexuall assaulting her. The ordeal came to an and when Pearson's home burned to the ground and investigators began a search. Their investigation led them to Corsicana where the found and freed Pearson.

"That man was going to kill me." Pearson said after the trial. "He had no choice but to kill me because I could identify him and he could go to prison."

A jury made good on that possibility, sentencing Maxwell to life terms for each of the three charges.
