DALLAS (1080 KRLD)  --  Following his death in Colorado, the body of retired Dallas police officer Jim Leavelle is now back in Dallas.

In an iconic photograph, Leavelle is the officer in the cream-colored Stetson and suit who was handcuffed to Lee Oswald the morning the assassin was gunned down two days after the JFK shooting.

Yesterday, Leavelle's casket was returned to Dallas Love Field from Denver where he died last week at the age of 99.

Arrangements for his funeral are not yet complete but it's expected to be in Dallas.
