Roanoke Named "Unique Dining Capital Of Texas"

The city of Roanoke has a lot to offer when it comes to good food. In fact, the city has been named the "Unique Dining Capital of Texas" for its variety of restaurants. If you're looking for good dining, look no further than Downtown Roanoke. Cody Petree, Assistant City Manager says "We have a lot of eclectic, unique restaurants." Petree says Roanoke has over 60-restaurants in six square miles, 25 of those are downtown, all individually owned."A lot of them are the first, there are several that they don't have another restaurant anywhere else, some have started here and branched off a little bit but most of them don't have more than three or four locations."Roanoke has been named the "Unique Dining Capital of Texas" for restaurants like Stacks Biscuit House where they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Manager Scott Bandy says he's not surprised Roanoke's received statewide recognition."I mean, you've got everything from sushi to fine dining up and down the street, it's a wide variety, a lot of restaurants." And if you have a sweet tooth you can check out Oak Street Pie Company next to Babe's, where they bake fresh pies every morning.There are SO many flavors, employee Brenda Serrano looses count...."We have chocolate creme, banana cream, key lime, raspberry lemon, lemon meringue, we just have a lot." So, if you haven't been to Roanoke yet, there are 60-restaurants and good reasons to come and check it out.
