DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Voters in Dallas are choosing a new Mayor and several members of the City Council on Saturday, June 8.

State Representative Eric Johnson and Council Member Scott Griggs are the two candidates on the ballot for Mayor of Dallas. They were the top two vote-getters in the general election in May. Voter turnout was just under 10 percent for that election.

There are also runoffs for several spots on the Dallas City Council. Voters in District 4, District 7, District 9 and District 14 are choosing candidates. The District 14 race has gotten much of the attention. It pits incumbent Council Member Philip Kingston against challenger David Blewitt. One spot on the Dallas ISD board is also on the ballot.

Several other cities in Dallas County have runoff elections for spots on their City Councils, including DeSoto, Grand Prairie, Richardson and Rowlett. In Tarrant County, there are runoff elections in Arlington, Forest Hill, River Oaks and Saginaw.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m.
