GRAPEVINE (1080 KRLD) - The family of a missing Grapevine woman is asking for the public's help to bring her home safely.
Grapevine Police say Joyce Payne, 66, left her home near Grapevine Lake Friday morning. She did not take her purse, cellphone or medications. Payne was driving a silver 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer with Texas plate DV15449.
Payne's husband, Bruce Peterson, said she had rarely driven in the past year. "She had right shoulder replacement surgery, and her left arm is just as bad, if not worse, than her right arm. So, she can't do anything. She's totally defenseless," he said.
Peterson said Payne has been battling depression during her recovery from the surgery. He added she recently took a drive to the lake without telling anyone. "We've searched and searched and searched the whole south side of Grapevine Lake and all the boat ramps and all that, and we've come up with nothing," Peterson said.
Grapevine Police say a Silver Alert was not issued in the case because Payne does not have diminished capacities, such as Alzheimer's or dementia.
Payne is white, 5'4" and 100 pounds. She has short blond hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with information on Payne's whereabouts is asked to call the Grapevine Police Department at 817-410-8127.
