ARLINGTON (1080 KRLD) - The National Weather Service confirms tornadoes touched down in north Arlington, north Fort Worth and near Eagle Mountain Lake Sunday afternoon.
The Arlington tornado, with a preliminary rating of EF-1, was on the ground for about two miles. Maximum winds were estimated at 95 mph.
Meteorologists noted significant storm damage in a neighborhood northwest of Globe Life Park, including downed trees and notable damage to homes.
Meanwhile, NWS survey teams confirmed a tornado in north Fort Worth. Meteorologists say the EF-0 twister stayed on the ground for about a mile. Damage was reported in the Crawford Farms and Vista Meadows subdivisions.
The NWS confirmed a brief spin-up from an EF-0 tornado over Eagle Mountain Lake around 3 p.m. Sunday. No damage was reported.
Crews were still out Monday afternoon, looking at potential tornado damage in Farmers Branch and Irving.
