
MCKINNEY (1080 KRLD) - Hail the size of baseballs was reported in some parts of Collin County when thunderstorms moved through the area Wednesday evening.
The National Weather Service had warned that large hail could damage roofs and car windows.
The earliest hail report was received about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday with a report of half dollar sized hail in Anna.
The largest hail was reported about 30 minutes later near Farmersville. The National Weather Service received a storm report of hail 2.5 inches in diameter, about the size of a tennis ball, six miles north of Farmersville.
One person posted a picture of a hail stone filling the palm of his hand on Twitter.
Quarter-sized hail was reported in the City of Farmersville and near the 75-380 interchange in McKinney. Hail the size of half dollars was reported in other parts of McKinney and Anna.
