Fort Bend County deputies received a call about a fight outside a home south of Sugarland.
Investigators believe Starlisha Nicole Baker struck another woman in the forehead with a hammer and drove off.
Deputies tried to pull her over but she refused. They put out spikes that flattened her tires.
Deputies say the woman then drove down the wrong side of the road and hit a patrol car. They say she backed up and headed toward a deputy.
Major Chad Norvell says one deputy fired two shots into the car striking her in the chest.
Norvell says, "It was incredible that she was shot in the chest and it went all the way through without hitting vital organs."
She's now out of the hospital and faces a number of charges.
