FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Two North Texas food banks dedicated to helping others partnered up today, in order to serve even more people.
The Tarrant Area Food Bank and Community Food Bank offered two food lines in one place today. This happened at Community's location on Galvez Avenue in Fort Worth.
Hungry families got the chance to line up for twice as many food staples. Community Food Bank had canned goods and fresh produce on offer, while Tarrant Area Food Bank gave milk, meat and other USDA products.
Rudy Taylor, the COO of Community Food Bank, says this isn't the first time the two organizations have teamed up.
"We're working to develop a relationship with Tarrant Area Food Bank where we're working with them as partners," he says. "We are putting more health and protein into the community. That's what it's all about, is helping people."
Taylor encourages the community to make a difference and help their own area food banks, by making a donation or giving your time as a volunteer.
