MIDLOTHIAN (KRLD) - Midlothian Police are looking for a man they say beat a teen-aged driver after a minor collision on Tuesday. It happened on Highway 287 near Shady Grove Road just after 6:00pm.
The teen was driving a Ford Mustang and told officers that another driver cut him off and struck the right front fender. When he pulled over, he said the other driver got out and beat him. Several drivers called 9-1-1. Police say that when their officers arrived, the suspect had fled the scene - and the juvenile male was covered in blood and disoriented. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police also say the teen had withdrawn cash from an ATM prior to the attack. That cash and his cell phone were both missing when officers arrived. Investigators are reviewing footage from surveillance cameras near the Chase Bank in Midlothian to see if they captured any images of the suspect. He's described as a Hispanic male in his mid-40's with a heavy build and thin mustache. They believe he was driving a blue or green SUV.
