WACO (1080 KRLD) - Superintendent A. Marcus Nelson was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession after he was found with less than two ounces.
The 46-year-old was booked Wednesday night into the Robertson County jail in Franklin, held overnight and released on his own recognizance.
He didn't go to work yesterday.
Nelson was hired in April of 2017. In 2009, he became the superintendent of the Laredo ISD and in 2014 was named Superintendent of the Year by the Texas Association of School Boards.
The Waco school board has scheduled a special meeting March 18th to address the situation.
