DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A judge this morning set a tentative trial date of August 12 for former Dallas Police officer Amber Guyger.
Guyger is accused of murder in last year's shooting death of Botham Jean September 6, 2018.
Guyger had just completed a shift with the DPD when she returned to her apartment building. She has told investigators she accidentally went to the wrong floor of her building, thought Jean was an intruder, and opened fire. Legal observers say the first trial setting is often canceled and reset. Guyger was at the Crowley Courthouse briefly this morning while her lawyers and prosecutors met with the judge.
