DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Trucks around Dallas have been making a "slow roll" around the city today.
Dozens of professional drivers left truck stops this morning with plans to drive slowly while honking their horns, as they headed to Dallas and back.
Protest organizer Rob Goodwin says the protest aims to send a message to the average commuter.
He says people who own their own trucks are struggling to compete with bigger companies because of restrictions on how long they can spend on the road every day. He says an owner-operator might take a nap for a couple hours while people unload cargo, but that still counts against his day, and he can't change drivers
