On Tuesday, she was walking through the Indian Trails subdivision, off Hwy. 380 between Decatur and Bridgeport, looking around as if someone was following her.

She left a message on a home security voicemail system asking for help.

Initially, the woman appeared to be between 12 and 14 years old.

"The images from a video there at the gate were a bit grainy," says Wise Co. Sheriff Lane Akin. "But it was a small woman. We also have an audio recording and the voice sounds young."

However, one witness said the woman is actually a bit older.

"One of the motorists recalled having seen a young woman dressed apparently the same, carrying a backpack, at about the same time on the same day," says Sheriff Akin, "and that motorist said is appeared as though the young woman was about 25."

The woman was wearing an athletic-type shirt, 3/4 length black leggings and tennis shoes.

She was carrying a backpack and a large satchel-type purse or bag.

When something appeared to attract her attention, she immediately turned and ran into a heavily wooded area.

Sheriff Akin says no one knows who she is.

"I knocked on every door out there and haven't found anyone who is aware of a missing person or is aware of such a description of any of the neighbors," says Sheriff Akin.

If you have any information, call the Wise Co. Sheriff's Office at 940-627-5971.
