Joyce Nielsen is the Lead Morning Drive Traffic Anchor on News Radio 1080 KRLD and KLUV-FM.
She grew up in San Antonio before joining the Navy and working as a journalist in Detroit. After an honorable discharge, she spent the next 25 years as a traffic anchor in Detroit, Washington DC and San Antonio before moving to Dallas as a traffic anchor for News Radio 1080 KRLD.
The biggest traffic issue Joyce covered as a traffic anchor was in Detroit, when a train derailed onto a major freeway at the tail end of morning rush. It shut down a major freeway for near 2 weeks.
In her spare time, Joyce enjoys ballroom dancing and golfing.
She also loves to bake and try new dishes, often using the newsroom staff as her tasters and is alos an accmplished Ballroom Dancer.
In her spare time, she enjoys jogging around downtown Dallas, going to the Dallas Farmers Market and parks on the weekend and loves spending time with her grandaugther.
