The debate continues; are Texas officials moving too quickly in reopening businesses across the state?
Some areas of Texas continue to see an increase in COVID-19 cases.
On Tuesday, Dallas County reported 253 new cases, recording a new daily high for the third consecutive day.
Gov. Greg Abbott announced Tuesday that barbershops and hair and nail salons will be allowed to open this Friday, May 8. Gyms and exercise facilities will have the green light starting May 18.
In all cases, strict social distancing regulations will remain in place.
Gov. Abbott is also strongly recommending, but not requiring, that both staff and customers wear masks during these business activities.
