I hope you enjoyed this past weekend, the weather was awesome! Another nice day today is in store for all of north Texas, with a very small chance for a few showers this afternoon.
By this evening, our western sky will light up a bit, as a few severe thunderstorms develop a good 150 to 200 miles to our west. A few of them may hold together and head east as the weaken by the time the get to I-35W, west of Fort Worth.
You'll wake up Tuesday morning to some residual high clouds tomorrow morning with very mild temperatures. Most of Tuesday will be OK as temperatures warm into the upper 80s. By Tuesday evening, all eyes shift to our NW, as a VERY STRONG line of storms starts to take shape along a cold front as in moves into central OK. This line of storms, or squall line, will barrel into north Texas before midnight. Wind in access of 60 mph, some hail and an isolated weak and brief tornado is possible.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed ALL of north Texas in a level 3 out of 5 for severe weather from 8pm tp 2am Wednesday.
Light at the end of the tunnel?
Look for a beautiful weather pattern to take shape starting Wednesday....lasting through the weekend. Wednesday and Thursday will be the comfy days with lower humidity. By Friday and into the weekend, humidity levels will increase and so will the temperatures. Highs will be in the 90s with increasing humidity.
As a cold front approaches Tuesday PM, the potential for storms will be increasing. A line of strong to severe storms will likely develop. The main hazard will be damaging winds. Large hail and a low potential for brief tornadoes will also exist. #dfwwx #ctxwx #texomawx #etxwx # pic.twitter.com/Xz3JT6GyhS
