It's hard to believe it's the middle of January as we're enjoying temperatures in the middle 60s this morning!
It's a terrible hair morning as well. With the 100% humidity, patchy dense fog has developed once again. The sky will brighten a bit this afternoon with a peek or two of sunshine. Highs in the 70s, again!
Our next weather change arrives late this evening as a cold front moves through before midnight.
Wind will shift to the NW at 15-25 mph, ushering in chillier air from the northern plains states.
Highs tomorrow will hold steady in the mid to upper 40s. Plus, rain will spread in from the south by late evening today and continue off and on through most of the day tomorrow. The heaviest rain totals will be west of a Wichita Falls to Abilene to San Angelo line.
7:20 am: Dense Fog Advisory Update... visibility is improving in most areas this morning. We will keep a few spots under the advisory until 8 AM: Wise, Denton, Collin, and all of the Red River counties. Here's what to expect the rest of the day! #dfwwx #ctxwx pic.twitter.com/ApVlJ0dg72
— NWS Fort Worth (@NWSFortWorth) January 15, 2020A quick warm up to near 60 on Friday, with another round of rain possible during the afternoon and evening. A few strong storms are possible, but nothing like what we experienced LAST Friday.
Another cold front will arrive very early Saturday morning, ushering in much drier and cooler air. Skies will clear form west to east close to the noon hour.
No rain is expected through early Monday with chilly mornings and cool afternoons. Clouds will also return LATE Sunday (slight chance of a sprinkle or two by evening) and linger at least through most of next week.
Some data is showing an arctic front oozing into the area late Monday into Tuesday. As of now, it is WAY too early to talk how cold the air will be and precipitation chances. Looking farther ahead, the rest of NEXT week is trending cold and wet after Wednesday.
