Flooding and Tornadoes A Concern For Tuesday Night

Good afternoon!

I'm well-rested and ready to go...

Over the past several hours, heavy rain has been training over the same area... along and North of US380 as expected.

Some areas have received over 3" of rain today.

These storms then created an outflow boundary that is now sagging south of Interstate 30, thus the new development farther south into parts of Parker, Denton, Dallas, Collin, and Tarrant counties.

Shifting gears, new development is taking shape right now to the west and SW of DFW. There's even a tornado warning for northwestern Jack County at 3:15pm.

While isolated tornadoes are not out of the question, I'm not too concerned about tornadoes with this event. FLOODING...YES!

More storms will continue to develop to our west and southwest as the evening and overnight progress.

Tonight through Wednesday will continue to have region-wide shower and storm chances. Areas of heavier showers continues to be located in North Texas. Most of North and Central Texas continue to see rainfall totals upwards of 3 inches. #dfwwx #ctxwx #txwx pic.twitter.com/foUC20abqn

A very dangerous situation is setting up for the training of thunderstorms along and north of Interstate 30 over the next 12-24 hours.

I would not be surprised to see some rainfall totals exceed 5". Isolated higher totals are certainly possible in the Flash Flood Watch Area.

I'll be watching 24-7 as we work our way into Wednesday. The access of heavy rain should start to shift a little bit south and east as we work our way through tomorrow.

I will have more on Thursday and Friday's forecast a little bit later.

IMPORTANT: When you get home this evening from work, please stay home!!! Do not venture out unless you have to. Again there will be widespread flooding along and north of Interstate 30, and especially north of 380 towards the Red River Valley, where 3 to 5" of rain has already fallen over the past 12 hours.

I will be live on KRLD and radio.com starting at 4 o'clock and at the top of every hour... maybe even the bottoms, as well as conditions, deteriorate.

STAY HOME after dark!
