Consider yourself lucky if you see a cooling shower or thunderstorm today between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.. After that, rain chances get squished tomorrow with only a handful seeing and isolated storm.

Thursday through Sunday, the heat is on as we soar up into the mid to upper nineties, heat index values will approach 100 degrees in some areas, especially west of 35W. Air quality will also be poor through the period.

If you're ready for summer, then we have some good news! The temperatures will be on the rise in the late parts of this week into this weekend with highs climbing to the mid-upper 90s for many of us by Friday and Saturday. #txwx #dfwwx pic.twitter.com/Pr7BZ6z8ar

After this weekend, all eyes on what will most likely be a strong tropical storm Cristobal or a category one hurricane as it may make landfall somewhere near the Texas/Louisiana border on Monday.

It's still way too early to tell if we'll feel any impacts here in north Texas next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tropical Depression Three should remain in the Bay of Campeche for the next several days before curving northward late this week. It's still too soon to determine what, if any, impacts are expected for the Gulf Coast and North/Central Texas. #txwx #dfwwx pic.twitter.com/4BdyJd8zR6
