It's starting off a little bit cool for this time of the year but warming up nicely today into the mid eighties.

By late this afternoon, I will be watching the dry line about 200 miles West us for isolated severe storms to form. 1 or 2 these may sneak towards 35W after 9:00 p.m.. Hail and wind will be the threats.

Our next weather maker will be heading South out of Oklahoma increasing shower and thunderstorm chances across North Texas between 3:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.. Wind will be the primary threat.

It'll be warm and breezy today before a strong cold front brings a chance for storms to the area tonight through Friday morning. A couple storms in North Texas could be strong or severe, so keep an eye on the weather later tonight. #dfwwx #ctxwx pic.twitter.com/HFz8czkZUW

By tomorrow afternoon, skies will clear, but the wind will continue to usher in much cooler air from the northern plains states.

This cooler than normal air will dominate Mother's Day weekend. Lows in the 40s away from town!! A free gift from mother nature.

We'll be back to a normal weather pattern for May all of next week, with the dry line to our west getting active each day. Some of these storms may creep into the Dallas and Fort Worth area by mid to late evenings. Stay tuned.

  • Warm and breezy today.
  • Level 2 out of 5 for severe storms, DFW/north late tonight.
  • Non-severe storms along front 4am-10am Friday.
  • MUCH cooler for Mother's Day weekend!
  • Warmer, with some storms back in the forecast next week.
