12:11 pm Edit--- Threat level for tonight's severe weather has been upgraded to Level 4 for North Texas between 9 p and midnight tonight.

Severe storms will exit north Texas in the next few hours, but not before hail up to golf balls fell across central parts of north Texas. The sky is rapidly clearing from NW to SE right now.

Today brings very warm, very humid, very windy conditions to all of north Texas. Highs will soar into the upper eighties.

The next weather event arrives along the Red River close to 8:00 p.m. A threat level 3 of 5 has been placed over ALL of North Texas late tonight.

Here's the latest timing for the line of strong to severe thunderstorms expected to develop ahead of an approaching cold front late Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning. Damaging winds remain the primary hazard with these storms. #dfwwx #ctxwx #texomawx #etxwx pic.twitter.com/OKcCOU4S9k

A powerful line of storms will barrel our direction and should be south of the area just after midnight. There's a slight chance areas West the 35W do not see a drop but I'm not 100% sure on that yet. Radar trends will tell all.

IMPORTANT: Please stay weather aware again between 8:00 p.m. (Red River) and around 2:00 a.m. (south of 287@ I-35/I-45) tomorrow morning as this line plows through North Texas. Damaging wind, some small hail, and an isolated brief and weak tornado not out of the question.

Cooler drier air rushes in for tomorrow and Thursday. A rapid warm up and very windy conditions Friday through the weekend with highs in the nineties.

I will keep one eye open for Sunday and Monday evening as a cold front may stall over the area producing strong till possibly severe storms but that forecast is subject to change because it still days away.
