Minnie's Food Pantry in Plano is one of the biggest of its kind in the area. Due to the pandemic it is currently serving double the amount of people as usual, over 3,000 people just last week. They are running critically short of supplies.
In addition to the families Minnie's feeds each week, the food pantry is now supporting schools too.
Pantry founder Cheryl Jackson says they are in need of cereal and canned meats.
They are preparing over 700 boxes of meals for families especially this coming week for the holidays which they will be closed for. Donation drop-offs can be made at their location on 661 18th street between 8 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday March 7th.
The meal boxes will delievered to families in need on Wednesday March 8th.
