Bedford Blues and BBQ FestivalBedford City HallKick off the weekend with some blues and barbeque at the Bedford Blues and Barbeque Festival...It starts on Friday night and lasts for 3-days as Pitmasters from across the U.S. will compete in 14 categories for more than $20,000 in prizes. The festival features a marketplace with more than 70 artisan, craft and commercial vendors. Bowlski'sLakewoodThere's a new bowling alley at Dallas' historic Lakewood Theater that's ready to roll...it's called Bowlski's and the much-anticipated bowling lounge is set to open this weekend in the Lakewood Theater. 3 Nations BrewingFarmers BranchAnd on Sunday the Farmers Branch brewery is hosting a daylong party, starting at 10 a.m. with a symbolic ribbon-cutting on its beer-to-go cooler, plus beer bingo and trivia. It's all to celebrate the milestone that Texas breweries are marking on Sept. 1. The state joins the other 49 in allowing beer producers to sell beer to go, thanks to new legislation passed this summer. The 50th Anniversary Texas International Pop Festival will be taking place in Lewisville this weekend. The event lasts all day with ZZ Top headlining Saturday night, and Chicago Sunday night. It's being held at the Lake Park Golf Course. The big event is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the music festival that took place 2 weeks after Woodstock in 1969. The city says back then - Lewisville was the location of one of the largest music events Texas had ever seen and featured Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Santana and others.
