It all started with a facebook post.

Emily Phillips, whose husband is an emergency room doctor, was looking for an RV so her husband, Jason, could stay close to home but not stay at home. With small children, Emily was concerned about her husband bringing the coronavirus home and infecting the family. Meanwhile, Holly Haggard, who leases and sells RV's heard about the post through a mutual friend. Haggard had a camper to lend to the Phillips free of charge.

"We really owe it to them, I mean, he's the one on the frontlines right now," Holly said. "Whatever we can do to help, I just asked them to pay it forward."

Emily continued to get offers and knowing that others might need a place to stay, Emily, Holly and other volunteers launched the RV's for MD's facebook group to match healthcare workers with RV's and campers. The group started with just a few members and now has more than 10,000 members.

But the group offers more than RV's and campers.

"We're seeing more than just matches. People are coming to our facebook just because they want to read the stories. People have said it brings them hope," Holly said.

Now the group is getting members from around the world, who want to help people in their own countries.

"It doesn't matter how you vote, where you live or what kind of house you live in," Holly said. "Everyone is coming together."
