Now that it's December, it's time to get into the holiday spirit. If you're looking for something to do, you can take in DeSoto's tree lighting ceremony Monday night.
The ceremony starts at 6:30 p.m.
DeSoto Parks Director Chris Glover says the school district will be on hand to provide entertainment. It features performances by its marching band and drill team.
The tree lighting will be followed by the dedication of the city's first-ever outdoor ice rink, "DeSoto On Ice," featuring a performance by five-time U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medalist Emma Pratt.
The rink will stay up through the first two weeks of January.
