The Kimball Art Museum in Fort Worth is celebrating its new acquisition and it is inviting people to celebrate Friday night with their dogs.
The Kimball's new masterpiece is the painting 'Dog Guarding a Basket of Grapes',' it's the work of Austrian artist Ferdinand Waldmüller. To celebrate this new acquisition, Kimball is hosting Kimball Dog Days, coinciding with National Dog Day today.
The event is free and it starts at 5:30 p.m. It includes an outdoor tour of the museum followed by a 'Best In Show' parade where prizes will be awarded to the dog that looks the most like the dog in the painting .There will be vendors on-site where people can buy food and drinks.
'Dog Guarding a Basket of Grapes' is now on display at the Kimball and while dogs are welcome outside, ONLY service dogs are allowed in the museum.
