DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton practiced Monday after coach Mike McCarthy said he was cleared of his concussion and COVID-19.

McCarthy said Dalton "looked good" in practice and the expectation is he'll start when the Cowboys take on the Vikings on Sunday.

Dalton left the game against Washington on Oct. 25 with a concussion and missed the following week's game vs Philadelphia as he remained in the concussion protocol. He was expected to return in Week 9 vs Pittsburgh but then was placed on the NFL's reserve/COVID-19 list.

In his place, Dallas turned to two different quarterbacks in Ben DiNucci and Garrett Gilbert, who both were making their first career starts in the NFL.

Gilbert performed much better in his start than DiNucci, and some questioned if he should get another start even if Dalton returns this week. However, both Jerry and Stephen Jones told 105.3 The Fan that Dalton would be back under center as soon as he was cleared to return.
