Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson to get MRI on knee

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson will undergo an MRI on his left knee after leaving Dallas' season-opening win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday due to a knee injury, according to Bobby Belt of 105.3 The Fan reports.

Belt adds that the team is optimistic that Ferguson did not suffer a serious knee injury.

Ferguson was seen by reporters wearing a wrap on his knee and walking with a noticeable limp after the game. Ferguson told Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News that he was "hoping" he suffered just a hyperextension.

Ferguson added that "he felt he could have played through" the injury and quarterback Dak Prescott said after the game that Ferguson may have avoided a serious injury.

"I think we've dodged a big one. Just talk to him, he gave me a lot of confidence. ... He gave me good news," Prescott said, according to Nick Harris of DallasCowboys.com.
