DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dallas Cowboys punter Chris Jones will be out multiple weeks after he undergoes surgery on a core muscle injury, coach Mike McCarthy announced Wednesday.
Jones' absence clears the way for Hunter Niswander to step in as the team's punter. He was signed to the Cowboys practice squad last week.
Niswander, an undrafted rookie out of Northwestern, was formally the punter of the DC Defenders of the XFL.
