Cowboys sign TE Luke Schoonmaker to rookie deal

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Cowboys are holding rookie minicamp practices at The Star in Frisco beginning Friday, which means it's time to hammer out contracts with their 2023 NFL Draft picks.

JL Sports, the agency that represents Cowboys' second-round pick Luke Schoonmaker, announced that the former Michigan tight end signed his four-year rookie deal with the organization. Terms of the deal are unknown.

Schoonmaker, a fifth-year senior, compiled 35 receptions for 418 yards and three touchdowns in 12 games in 2022. He caught 54 passes for 637 yards with seven touchdowns throughout his time at Michigan.

Schoonmaker will join a Cowboys' tight end room that includes Jake Ferguson and Peyton Hendershot.

First-round pick Mazi Smith, third-round pick DeMarvion Overshown, fourth-round pick Viliami Fehoko, fifth-round pick Asim Richards, sixth-round picks Eric Scott Jr. and Deuce Vaughn, and seventh-round pick Jalen Brooks remain unsigned.
