Cory Mageors on Mavs' plans to honor Luka Doncic with t-shirts, video tribute: 'Boo everything & throw those shirts in the trash'

Luka Doncic's former team is making preparations to commemorate the generational talent's return to the American Airlines Center on Wednesday night, and one Cory Mageors isn't having any of it.

The Mavericks set out t-shirts on the seats for every fan attending the game against Doncic and the Lakers. The wording on the shirt, written in Doncic's native Slovenian language, translates in English to "Thank you so much."

As noted by multiple reporters, the Mavs were not permitted to include Doncic's name or No. 77 on the shirts because he no longer plays for Dallas.

But Mageors doesn't have a problem with any of that, his beef is with the organization for creating the shirts.

"You don't do a thing like this when you traded the player away. You effed up," Mageors said forcefully on the K&C Masterpiece. "You don't go, 'Okay, now it's time for us to act like you were the most glorious player to ever step foot in this arena' after you traded the guy away."

When informed by his co-host, Kevin Hageland, that the Mavericks are also planning a video tribute, it got Mageors even more fired up.

"You better not do that! It's the stupidest thing! You traded the guy away. You're sitting there trying to trash him the whole time you send him away, too. You don't act like everything is fine now. Nobody in the arena tonight is going to believe it. That's so superficial. It's such a lie. It's so terrible for the franchise to act like we're so stupid. We're not that dumb.

"Show up tonight. Boo everything about it. Boo the entire crap they are putting out there. Throw those shirts in the trash. That's miserable, dude. That's awful. Trade away a player like that and act like, 'Oh, we love you so much.' No you didn't, or otherwise you would have kept him!'
