Jacob deGrom expects to make next scheduled start after exiting early vs. Royals with wrist soreness

The Rangers have dodged not one but two bullets after two of their starting pitchers exited their most recent outings early with injuries.

Rangers' ace Jacob deGrom informed the media before Tuesday's game in Kansas City that he "fully expects" to make his next start on Sunday against the Oakland Athletics, 105.3 The Fan's Jared Sandler reports.

deGrom left Monday's start after tossing four no-hit innings against the Royals with what the club described as 'right wrist soreness.'

According to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, deGrom said he felt better than he did Monday and is "encouraged" by the progress he has made overnight.

deGrom's injury scare came after fellow starter Jon Gray was forced from the game against the Astros on Saturday night after getting hit on his pitching elbow on a comebacker. Gray told 105.3 The Fan's K&C Masterpiece on Monday that he anticipates starting Friday against Oakland.
