With 47 seconds left in the fourth quarter on a 3rd-and-18 at the Miami Dolphins 46-yard line trailing 21-19, New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold threw an incomplete pass to wide receiver Vyncint Smith, which should've set up a fourth-and-18 situation. There was plenty of contact between Smith and Dolphins defender Nick Needham.
Darnold and the offense would move the ball down the field all the way to the Miami 26-yard line, allowing Kicker Sam Ficken to kick the game-winning 44-yard field goal as time expired. The Jets' 22-21 victory improved their record to 5-8 on the year.

December 8, 2019 Dolphins head coach Brian Flores was not happy with the call. Miami came in hot, having defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 37-31 last week.
#Dolphins coach Brian Flores is quite angry. Felt team got screwed on a pass interference call on closing second, game-winning drive by #Jets. pic.twitter.com/OOm9rtkhk4
