Coming off of a dominant 38-10 win over the Commanders, the Dallas Cowboys have secured the NFC East title and No. 2 seed in the playoffs. And as a result, it is no surprise that their top assistants are being pursued for openings across the NFL.
Most recently, those calls have come from the Carolina Panthers and Washington Commanders, both of which recently cleaned house after dreadful seasons.
And unsurprisingly both are pursuing two critical pieces to the Cowboys staff, with each requesting to interview defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and VP of Player Personnel Will McClay.
Quinn, of course, is being pursued for the vacant head coach openings.
This will now be the third-straight offseason in which Quinn will be a top candidate for a head coaching, with the Cowboys being able to retain him in each of the last two years.
Most recently in January of last year, Quinn interview with the Broncos, Cardinals and Colts, before announcing his decision to return to Dallas.
McClay, meanwhile, is being interviewed by the Panthers for their general manager position, and the Commanders for their head of football operations opening.
McClay has been with the Cowboys in various positions since 2003, beginning his time as a scout, before moving to the player personnel side in 2014. He was then named the VP of Player Personnel in 2017.
Thanks to his success in drafting, scouting and player evaluation, McClay has become extremely respected and coveted across the NFL.
