Nathan Eovaldi isn't going anywhere.
According to multiple MLB insiders, the Texas Rangers agreed to a three-year, $75 million pact with the veteran right-handed starting pitcher on Tuesday night.
Eovaldi, one of the heroes of the club's 2023 World Series championship roster, became the club's top offseason priority after declining his player option worth $18 million for the 2025 season.
Eovaldi's return ensures that the Rangers will have a formidable 1-2 punch alongside former two-time CY Young award winner Jacob deGrom atop the Rangers rotation through 2028.
Eovaldi, 34, had a 3.80 in 170 innings pitched last season. The 170 innings were the second-most he's thrown in a season for his career.
The Rangers will enter next season with a plethora of starting pitching depth and could add to the group that already includes deGrom, Eovaldi, Tyler Mahle, Jon Gray, Cody Bradford, Kumar Rocker, Jack Leiter and Dane Dunning.
Texas has an interest in bringing back free-agent starter Andrew Heaney and is among the clubs vying for Japanese pitcher Roki Sasaki.
