Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins will not permit bars to reopen next week, taking advantage of the option given to county governments by Governor Greg Abbott who yesterday authorized bars to reopen with specific restrictions.
The Governor gave Counties the freedom to choose based on local conditions.
Jenkins said he "will not file to open them at this time."
Denton County Judge Andy Eads says he applauds the governor taking this much needed step to reopen Texas.
Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley says he will announce his decision on Monday.
