It seems these days the cost of just about everything is going up, and apparently living in DFW isn’t helping much. A new report recently named Dallas one of the most expensive cities in the world. According to the report, 2023 hasn’t been too kind to the metroplex as it is up over 20 spots from last year’s list.
Consulting firm Mercer’s 2023 report on the most expensive cities was recently unveiled, and Dallas took a major jump on this year’s list. According to Axios, Dallas is now ranked number 53, which is up more than 20 spots form last year. Houston didn’t fare too well either, landing at number 61, which is up more than 20 spots from last year as well.
To determine the rankings, the study looks at housing, transportation, food and recreation costs as part of a cost of living calculation that helps global companies decide where to relocate business and employees. Despite rising in the rankings, DFW continues to attract new businesses to the area.
Hopefully these rankings don’t continue to go up.
