Dallasites, give yourselves a pat on the back; we're pretty dang smart, y'all.
A new study from real estate technology company ProptechOS named Dallas the No. 7 smartest city in the entire United States.
According to Culture Map, the study focused on "which major cities in Europe and the USA are best prepared for a smarter future," and rated them in three metrics: technology infrastructure, green infrastructure, and tech job market.
Austin ranked No. 1 on the list, with Dallas making the only other Texas city to appear in the top ten.
Some of the metrics included the presence of free Wi-Fi, availability of airports, and number of electric vehicle charging stations, mostly factors that make "tangible impacts on the day-to-day life of civilians."
The top ten list is as follows:
No. 1 Austin
No. 2 Los Angeles
No. 3 Seattle
No. 4 San Francisco
No. 5 Atlanta
No. 6 Washington, D.C.
No. 7 Dallas
No. 8 New York
No. 9 (tied) San Jose, California
No. 9 (tied) Portland, Oregon
