Buying a new home is always a great feeling, but that feeling quickly fades away as issues with the home emerge over time. Repairs to a home can be costly and timely, but it’s something every home owner deals with. However, one DFW family recently dealt with an issue in their home that no one had seen before. The family’s refrigerator exploded inside their home and no one can explain why.
The Bolaños family was asleep in the Fort Worth home back in February when all of a sudden they heard an explosion occur inside their home. According to the family, it was an eight year old refrigerator that had exploded, but the appliance was in good condition and showing no signs of failure. “No noises, no smell, no nothing. Just a regular, good refrigerator. I would think it was a great refrigerator,” said Llajaira Bolaños.
According to NBC DFW, the explosion caused the home’s French door several feet away from the fridge. While the Fort Worth fire department couldn’t determine what caused the explosion, Whirlpool still sent the family a new fridge. Hopefully this one doesn’t have the same issues.
